The mission of the Center On Aging is to promote and facilitate activities on aging
in the areas of education, research and evaluation, and community service.
The Center on Aging is advised by a board of recognized and respected leaders from the corporate, health and human service, educational, medical, and not-for-profit communities. Some are currently affiliated with organizations that directly or indirectly serve the older citizens of Maine. Others have prior associations with such organizations. The Board provides direction and advice as the Center continues to evolve as an academic entity with exceedingly close community ties. The Board also engages in strategic planning in the area of development and carries out periodic reviews of Center performance and goal attainment.
