Job Opening for Senior Companion Program Director

Director, Senior Companion Program, Center on Aging, University of Maine

The University of Maine Center on Aging seeks a full-time Director of the Senior Companion Program (SCP). SCP is funded in part through a grant from the Corporation for National Service, National Senior Service Corps. Senior Companions are stipended volunteers who support homebound individuals with education and companionship, helping them remain in their homes. Volunteer stations are non-profit, community-based, human service agencies serving elders. SCP program coordinators recruit volunteer stations to support the program and assign Senior Companions to homebound older adults. The SCP Director works in partnership with Center on Aging faculty, professionals, program coordinators and Advisory Council and volunteer stations in support of the goals and within the structure of the SCP.
