Sara K. Martin
Sara Martin joined the Senior Companion Program at the Center on Aging in November of 2018. She received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Maine in 2016. After completing her degree, she worked at the Bucksport Bay Healthy Communities Coalition. Prior to returning to school, Sara worked as an architectural historian, consulting on historic preservation projects for over a decade. Her projects included three on the University of Maine campus: an inventory of buildings and landscapes over 50 years old, a preservation master plan, and an update and expansion of the existing University of Maine National Register District nomination. Before working full time on preservation projects, she was Deputy Director for the Bangor Historical Society. She holds a master’s degree in History from the University of Maine. She lives with her husband in Bangor and their golden retriever, Molly. They have a grown daughter, Jordan, who lives and works in Timor Leste.
