Patricia Heyn, Ph.D.

Patricia C. Heyn, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. She conducts investigations evaluating the risk and protective factors for cognitive decline in aging. She is especially interested in understanding how disability affects cognitive function over time.  Her investigations include the associations between exercise, mobility, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular risk factors, and cognitive function. Her meta-analysis study on the effects of exercise training for individuals with dementia is recognized in the top most downloaded manuscript  Top 25 SciVerse ScienceDirect: Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Hottest Article.
