Samantha John-Aloye, PhD

Samantha John-Aloye is an applied demographer with expertise in demographic intelligence for planning and policy. She holds a PhD in Applied Demography from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She currently serves as Lecturer in Statistics and Research Methods at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica. Her international work includes leading national statistical system strengthening and vulnerable population analysis commissioned by organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank, the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States, and United Nations agencies. Dr. John-Aloye’s research interests include older adult vulnerability, unmet support needs, and demographic approaches to home and community-based care planning.
