NEW STUDY ON WALKING IN OLDER ADULTS Participants Needed!

Dr. Babak Hejrati (Ph.D.) from the Center on Aging and the Institute of Medicine of the University of Maine is running a new, National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded study that focuses on improving walking ability in older adults through a wearable system and new training method. 

Eligibility:

Adults aged 65 and older who can walk independently with no assistive devices and have not had a neurological disorder

What can I expect from the study?

Participants are compensated for their time through an incentive of  $400
12 sessions -  3 (1.5 hour) study sessions per week for 4 weeks
Short walks around a track field at the University of Maine, New Balance Field House or Crosby Hall, while wearing a feedback system on your arms or legs
